WHAT’S IN A NAME? DEFINING DOULAS , MONITRICES, CPMS, CNMS & MORE

Wednesday, February 25th from 7:00 to 8:30pm at the Athens Library

Erica Andrews and Lauren Genter sift through the various types of birth workers, and their designations, that we have in our community. Come find out the differences and similarities between them and bring your questions for an enlightening conversation about pregnancy and childbirth care options in our area.

Thanks to our February Meeting Sponsor:  Jennifer Cochran
Jennifer is a licensed massage therapist at Ping Fitness Center on the campus of Ohio
University and at the Athens Wellness Cooperative.   Jennifer offers a therapeutic blend of Swedish
and deep tissue massage, movement and myofascial release.  A graduate of Otterbein College, Ohio
University and Hocking College, Jennifer was drawn to massage therapy as a second career by the
desire to help people nurture and heal their bodies and minds.  While pregnant with her first child, Jennifer discovered the value of massage and osteopathic manipulation in relieving some of the aches and
pains often associated with pregnancy. Jennifer has received training in Swedish massage, pre-natal massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, Reiki, reflexology, aromatherapy and polarity therapy.  She is experienced in working on pregnant women and new mothers to relieve pain and discomfort related to pregnancy and postpartum issues and to promote a sense of well-being as an expectant mother prepares for her birth.
